Trouble is, I have tried six or seven types of green tea and found them all to be foul. Last lot I tried made me gag and I threw it back up. Maybe I could bathe in it instead!

Interesting article, Dave. I agree that most green tea taste nasty, but I find that Bigelow green tea has a pleasant flavor. That is the brand I drink most of the time. Thanks for sharing the article.

Roasted green tea tastes better to many people. It is called Hojicha in Japanese groceries. The really green green tea that I don't mind but to some people taste yucky is sencha. There are other kinds as well but I recommend a quality hoji-cha to see if you can stand it!

Coloring compound in fruits, veggies may cut cancer risk

Compounds called anthocyanins, which give color to most red, purple and blue fruits and vegetables, may help protect against colon cancer, an Ohio State University study says.
In laboratory tests on rats and on human colon cancer cells, the researchers found that anthocyanins can significantly slow the growth of colon cancer cells. The team also found that, in some cases, slightly altering the structure of anthocyanin molecules boosted their anti-cancer properties.
The findings, presented Aug. 19 at the American Chemical Society's annual meeting in Boston, may help advance knowledge about what gives fruits and vegetables their cancer-fighting properties which, in turn, could eventually lead to the development of new cancer treatments.
"These foods contain many compounds, and we're just starting to figure out what they are and which ones provide the best health benefits," lead author Monica Giusti, an assistant professor of food science at the university, said in a statement.
Green tea may brew up skin condition treatments

Green tea may hold promise as a new treatment for psoriasis and other inflammatory skin conditions, including dandruff and lupus-related skin lesions, according to a U.S. study
Medical College of Georgia researchers found that green tea slowed the growth of skin cells in rodents genetically predisposed to psoriasis.
The findings were published in the Aug. 18 issue of the journal Experimental Dermatology.
"Psoriasis, an autoimmune disease, causes the skin to become thicker, because the growth of skin cells is out of control," lead investigator Dr. Stephen Hsu, an oral biologist in the MCG School of Dentistry, said in a statement.
Previous research has shown that green tea helps suppress inflammation.
Hsu and his colleagues suggested that green tea helps treat psoriasis and other inflammatory skin diseases by regulating the expression of Caspase-14, a protein in genes that regulates the life cycle of skin cells.
Scientists say vaccine stops Alzheimer's brain 'tangles'

A vaccine to combat a protein implicated in Alzheimer's disease has proven effective in mice, U.S. scientists say.
Abnormal tau protein accumulates into damaging tangles in the memory center of the brains of Alzheimer's patients, noted a team at the New York University Medical Center.
However, the new NYUMC-developed vaccine prevented tau tangles in several regions of the central nervous system of mice that were genetically engineered to produce abnormal tau proteins.
The vaccine prompted the immune system to produce antibodies that could enter the brain and bind to abnormal tau, the researchers said. This prevented tau from forming harmful tangles and causing motor coordination problems in the mice.
The study, which is published in the Aug. 22 issue of the Journal of Neuroscience, is the first to show that a vaccine can induce the immune system to combat abnormal tau protein.

green tea shouldn't be foul at all. You either are not sweetening your tea or something. Lol I have never heard anyone saying it was disgusting. The tea is almost a neutral tatse until you pt a swetner in it. Weird. Anyways I have never heard of green tea helping out psoriasis. I have ben long time drinker of this partcular tea and I couldn't say it helped or improved my p b/c I wasn't paying attention to that. but I will look into this more. What I truly am interested in is this laser treatment.

I think someone would have to drink several cups of green tea every day for it to improve P. That's just my opinion. I have also been drinking green tea for a long time. But I only drink a few cups a week at the most.

BTW, I don't think it does anything for my P. I actually like it (but I can see why some people wouldn't) and figure that it may be overhyped but it probably is good for my overall health in some minor way.

For me it is Coffee in the AM, usually 2 cups, and after that green tea sometimes a cup of traditional black tea (2-4 cups of tea daily). I drink these either iced or hot...Why? because I like them :) No sweeteners, no dairy, just straight black or green as the case may be coffee or tea. I'll typically throw in an additional 16-32 oz of good old H2O "Poland Spring" only because it is available, otherwise ice cold tap water is OK by me.
For anyone that says that green tea tastes like hay....try Lipton's Green Tea. Perhaps it is an acquired taste, but to me the green stuff tastes just fine, when I am home I compliment with a sprig of fresh mint, because I like it. I have been drinking green tea for years, and no it has not had any effect on my PS.

I can only drink tea in the winter..dont ask me why..lol

I like the different flavored teas and one of my favorites is green tea with chamomile. I think the chamomile kills any taste of the green tea.

I like chamomile..probably because it reminds me of my childhood. My mom used to give it to us for "belly aches". I dont know if it worked..but it tasted good..lol
