View Full Version : Eliminating trigger foods

I have a general question about food elimination. How long do you have to eliminate a food to see if it is a trigger for you? I'm going to start with eliminating tomatoes (which will not be easy because I love pizza). I plan on eliminating 'trigger' foods one at a time to see how they affect me.

I think the process is to eliminate one food for two weeks, then reintroduce it to see the effects. For me, it was obvious what foods were triggering my plaque psoriasis because my skin would itch about a half hour after eating it. I have cut out all sugar and processed food, as well as alcohol, plus I have drastically reduced wheat and corn. Most important, I have increased vegetables and fruits. I also take fish oil capsules daily and was taking turmeric capsules daily when the skin was really raging. Now I have been in remission for about two years, drug-free. Good luck!
