I have a spot right where my underwear grips, needless to say by the end of the day I am in a fair amount of discomfort. Anyone have any tips or tricks I could try.
I have tried keeping a large band aid on it also I tried different undies but they all seem to hit the same place.
Thanks in advance.

this ma sound a little weird, but it may be that your spot is aggraviated by contact dermatitis with the underwear. Maybe buy a pair of underwear that has a looser grip or a different fabric. Maybe you'll just have to go commando to truly try test the idea of the clothes putting too much pressure on that area and creating a reaction. I get things like that if I wear a bra that is too tight.

I have tried boxers and briefs, but not different fabrics yet. I think I have some flannel I could wear. LOL the thought of commando scares the crap out of me! :D
I never thought about different fabrics I will give it a try, Thanks!

When I had a consultation with Dr. Heng
http://psoriainfo.org/site/
she said some people (especially with inverse P) have a reaction to dark colors (the dye in them) and to elastic..................
I lived in dark, stretch pants (old leggings) for working in my art studio....
I got rid of anything that wasn't cotton and light colored and turned any bra that had elastic showing, inside out.
You might want to try commando around the house.......
my next suggestion is zinc oxide, a white ointment that can be mixed with
a perfume-free lotion or cream, to lessen the stiffness of the zinc and for easy application......or you might want to try it straight from the tube, but it is a thick ointment....you can find it in the drugstore in the section for abraisions and burns....or Desitin has a diaper ointment....read the ingredients on the back and get the one that says 40%.....the creamy Desitin has only 15%
This is a skin healer! it will not cure the P but will soothe and heal the burning!
I wish I had bought stock in Desitin years ago :D I don't need it anymore since the inverse is GONE!
p.s. sugar feeds the fungus/yeast condition that can occur with the inverse P
I also think using the magnesium transdermal I recently started has kicked inverse in the butt....before I started the magnesium on the skin (as opposed to pills) the inverse reacted with trigger foods!!
read the magnesium thread somewhere on this page...it's a real eye opener!

Have you tried just going bare-bum!
As long as you don't wear a skirt or a kilt on a windy day, you can easily get away with it.
I am not joking.
I love it when I wear my pyjama trousers for lounging around the house, as no knickers means no rubbing.
It's apparently quite a trend with the rich & famous (at least on the French Riviera)......

just put any soft fabric in between you and your undies, the elastic is probably rubbing back and forth slightly all day long,,,,just enough to irritate it more,, if there is scales then try some psorolin ointment and if there isnt try the tuvarak oil if you already tried the 777,, where the 777 didnt work for me the tuvarak did,, i think the nutrition4skin site is having a sale on both right now
best of luck to you

Well after experimenting with a few different types I found a boxer/brief that does not agitate "the spot"! Whhaaaawhoooo!!! :D
after 2 weeks of use the swelling has gone the raw skin has recovered and the excess pain is gone. I am sitting pretty again! ROLF
What I found was some 100% cotton with NO dyes in them. Only draw back is because they are not dyed they are a off white and look kind of dingie but hey no one seems them anyway so I don't care ;)
Thanks for the advice ya'll!

Can you post the source of your find?
I'm looking for men's or women's underwear that is not irritating.
Does this product contain elastic?

If it's due to contact dermatitus, not just friction, you might want to try a barrier lotion. Liquid Glove comes to mind, though I've never used it. There are a ton out there!

i was also thinking it sounds like contact dermatitis. You may want to ask your doc about that. You can have psoriasis and still get another kind of skin rash where the elastic hits the skin. I've found contact dermatitis to respond well to topicals the few times I have had it.
