Yang,
I've had my ALT readings done on my bloodwork, and it's always been in range. Actually, looking at it......it's low if anything.......but in range. I'm looking over several years of blood tests and it's nearly always the same.
Why where you asking?

just checking..

because mine was 83... and norm is 40...
so it is twice...

as for AST.. 35.. and norm is 40...

i was just thinking that the AST or ALT might be higher for "P" because
there would be more dead cells in the blood stream...

:P

Yang,
Actually for the ALT, the norm is not 40. That would be high on the range. The range goes from 3-40 or from 6-40 depending on the lab and the tests. 40 would be considered borderline high in any of these cases.
My two recent bloodwork write ups say that the AST should be in the range of 3-35 or 10-35. Again, I came in on the low level on these.
Have you discussed your bloodwork with your doctor and what does he say about your levels???

yeah.. need to exercise and eat healthy.. :)

it is kind of odd that the AST would not be hight for "P"... since u
would think there is cell damage..

I wanted to put in my two-cents here. I don't remember my exact ALT/AST levels from a few months ago (I am at work right now), but I do remember they were increased. Now the problem with the labs that do the blood tests, and send results is that the ranges always change. So what might have been normal 3 months ago, is now "out of range". It changes because of a person's sex, and age. Also sometimes weight. So it all depends on the person. Whether this is a relation to "p" or not, Who knows. It's all theory and speculation. I think I was out of range because I am on MTX, and since starting it, I have been really "off".

I hope you are able to discuss your levels with your doctor though. Keep smiling.
