I know soda is a no go, but does everyone here just drink water?
Is there anything else that might help P? What about green tea?

some fresh lemon squeezed into water, or some 100% cranberry juice added to ice cold water. Both good for P as they are alkalizing.

I've been avoiding Diet Coke. I still drink it, but much less than before. I drink water, sometimes just plain but usually with lemon slices in it. Also good in water are orange wedges, watermelon, cucumber, or a tiny bit of any kind of fruit juice. I find that adding the lemon to my water really helped curb my Diet Coke craving!
I also love coffee. Besides waht I brew at home, I'll occasionally treat myself to a Starbucks mocha, or other sweet coffee drink. I can't start the day without coffee! :p
I have a V8 juice every day. Occasionally, I like fruit juice diluted with water (otherwise, too sweet).
I'm not much in to tea, but I'll drink it occasionally.
Mostly, just water.

Filtered (magnetically enhanced) Water
Herbal Teas (dried tea, not bags)
Lemon juice in warm water
Plain Soda Water
Plain Tonic Water
Freshly squeezed fruit juice or vegetable juice
Green smoothies (banana and spinach in the blender)
Organic preservative-free red wine (I suppose that’s NOT what you are looking for – eh!)

Hi, I'm new here but not new to psoriasis. Anyway, isn't cranberry juice considered very acidic? (I personally just drink water sometimes with a little lemon).

I have always drank more water than anything else. It's how I was brought up. Recently, I've tried putting lemon juice in my water. But I really prefer it plain. I also drink fruit juice and herbal tea (including green tea). I very rarely drink soda, and I never drink alcoholic beverages.

Yes...cranberrys are a bit acidic...As a P sufferer...you may want to "moderate" cranberry juice intake. That's why I just "flavor" the water a bit with cranberry juice. Same with lemon...which interestingly enough...is less acidic to the body than pineapples, oranges...who knew?

Every day I make my own vegetable juice with a juicer. About 8 ounces to which I add about 2--4 tablespoons of Hemp Seed powder, which is about 50% protein. I find that a higher protein diet is good for me. The veggie juice is made from cucumber, celery, carrot, cabbage--about a handful of each.
I drink water in the day, and my only indulgence is tea with rice milk and stevia.
My skin was really bad at one time, but since I cleaned up my diet, it is now in total remission.

I know this is really bad for my kidneys, but I drink iced black tea. On hot days, I can easily go through a gallon or so. Yeah, I do end up going pee all day! I mix it with only spring water. I drink it plain with no sweeteners or lemon added. Other times, I drink just plain spring water, or maybe with a lemon slice. Rarely I will drink a Pepsi. But since I don't drink anything with caffeine, that is my once source of caffeine intake. I wil drink maybe 1 soda every 2 days. Sometimes I do the Crystal Light single serve packs that you just dump into a bottle of water. Those taste good, but have TONS of sugar and other things in them.

I drink coffee in the morning and soda with dinner. The rest of the time is water.
I drink Diet Coke (and have all my life). I don't drink it as much...I order water more when I go out to dinner. Also, I have a rule. If I had soda with my lunch, then I won't have soda with dinner. One or the other.

to which I add about 2-4 tablespoons of Hemp Seed powder, which is about 50% protein.
Hi WhoaTrigger
I was planning to buy some Hemp Seed powder and put it in my morning smoothies. I have heard it is absolutely brilliant source of essential fatty acids and zinc.
I had amazing results with Hemp body butter on my P, so thought it would be even better to consume the stuff.
Besides P improvement, have you had any other noticeable health improvements from taking it?
Also 2-4 tablespoons seems a lot to me!? I was only planning to have 1-2 teaspoons.
Many thanks for any extra advice.
Best wishes

Brewed brown water (iced green tea no sweetener)
white wine
water
the very rare diet soda -- although i'm wary of it due to evil aspartame

I love teas. All kinds of tea! Black, green, herbal, hot, iced, etc. etc. I try to mix it up so I get a little caffeine each day (maybe two cups like that) and the rest without caffeine. BTW, green tea has caffeine in it. I don't put any sweetener in it. I also drink water a lot and have a glass of wine ocassionally (probably averages out to once a week or less.) I drink soda once in a while as well--like in the summer at a BBQ or at a bar or a party when I'm not into having a "real" drink. I'd rather have a "regular" soda with sugar than a diet one with sugar substitute. That's also only once or twice a week.

Start weaning yourself off of it. Try to downsize to where you're only having Diet Coke with dinner.
Diet is much better than regular, but you should definitely try to drink less of it. Just remember, would you rather be clear or not be clear and have the soda?

Lemon water! I love Diet Coke too, and since I can't seem to control myself, I haven't been buying it to keep at home. I still grab one if I have cash at work, or if I'm out and about, but at home I stick with water. I started putting lemon in my water and it helped with the cravings, which were pretty strong for awhile there.

kak3232,
Drea is right. Lemon watar..so good and so simple. Simply water with some fresh lemon squeezed in. Just enough to get a very subtle pucker. ;)
Very refreshing, very alkalizing.
No sugar or caffiene, no high fructose corn syrup, phosphoric acid or carbonic acid. Free of bromides and synthetic sweeteners.
You can also use a little grape or cranberry juice as well.

Several months ago, I took myself off of my beverage of choice (Pepsi). That was pretty much all I drank. I substituted it with fresh squeezed lemonade. I realize that is still a lot of refined sugar, but its got to be better than the pop, right?

Your right, it does sound like a lot, it's what the label says to take "for life".
Anyways, it's tasty and makes the vegetable juice bearable. I can't say if it's the hemp seed powder or the vegetable juice or the stuff I've given up (booze, processed food, etc.) but I haven't felt this good for years. One thing I've noticed with the high protein is that I am not hungry for carbs and sugar like I used to crave, and I definitely got much more energy. Also, my blood pressure has dropped from moderately high to below normal! I've cut out all wheat products, including bread, and all sugar. Except I "cheat" most days with a little of each. It's not an exact science and I'm not punishing myself with this. My skin is a pretty good barometer for what I am doing right or wrong. I think I'll get going on the lemon in water with stevia next. I'm learning a lot from others here. Good luck with your health!

I drink one (okay maybe two) cups of coffee early in the day. It's my last vice and I feel so deprived when I give it up.
I drink water with meals.
I am on a Diet Ginger Ale kick for some reason but this is new and I'll probably stop soon. Not a lot. Maybe once a week.
I was drinking a ton of diluted cranberry juice but didn't know it was acidic. What juices are good to help with the alkaline balance?
And what is prill water? I tried the link but didn't get anywhere.

I usually drink mostly water, every once in awhile a sprite or ginger ale.
I do like vodka though so if I am drinking something alcoholic that is not wine it is most likely vodka, though I don't drink all that much.
