I got on the Enbrel list in February of 2002. In April 2002 I revieved a letter from Enbrel saying that by July 2002 I could begin Enbrel. When I called Enbrel the other day they said it would be either December 2002 or January 2003. Is it possible for my Reumy to help speed up the process? I am on MTX and Remicade now. The Remicade is only lasting for about 2.5 weeks, which means I have to suffer with the pain for 5 weeks before my next infusion.
Any ideas?
When you hurt just think about how nice it will be the day after that first injection of Enbrel. It will be like the day you turned 16 years old. In fact you feel so normal that it's easy to take it for granted. Comfort has it's price, capitalism. Enbrel is so expensive I only take one shot every two weeks opposed to two/weekly. The pain takes about two weeks to come back-half pain. It seems like even though Enbrel's a maintenance drug, it has some long term pain benefit. Hang in there.--Mike
As far as I know they are backed up on the production of Enbrel and it looks like a long wait for those who are on the waiting list. I sure hope that I"m wrong for your sake and all those that really need the drug. Mama

Thanks for the posts. That is all I can do is hope and pray. I can't wait to just have a fews pain free days.
The Remicade helps ease the pain alot, but I am never really pain free, and don't expect to be. I have been able to handle pain real well now. And when I say pain fee right now, that only means that I do not have to limp when I walk. I go next Tuesday (07/30/2002) for my next Remicade infusion, and it can't get here soon enough.
I did go out water skiing last weekend. Yes it hurt, but I did it! YEA!!!!!!!!!
Thanks,
