Is the only lotion that soothes me. Ask at CVS , sometimes you have to ask the pharmacist. It's over the counter but sometimes they don't keep it on the shelves. Several pharmacists agreed that there is nothing better.

I love Sarna. I doloize Sarna.

Hi KweenNikki,

Welcome to the Board. Nice to meet you. I'm glad to hear that Raptiva has turned out to be your wonder drug :), but I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems with itching. :(

You've already been given some great avice. You're also using a lot of things that I normally suggest. Here's some addititional suggestions that will hopefully give you some relief:
Putting on some Corn starch; I haven't used it yet, but some very good friends of mine swear by Neutrogena Anti-Itch Moisturizer (http://www.neutrogena.com/ProductsDetails_36.asp). It has lidocaine in it. Ice packs; taking a cool shower; Taking a bath with a product like Aveeno Oatmeal Soak (http://www.aveeno.com/productDetail.do?prodid=4312) (cheaper store brands are available) Atarax (http://www.pdrhealth.com/drug_info/rxdrugprofiles/drugs/ata1035.shtml). You'll need a prescription. It makes me VERY sleepy so I can only take it right before I go to bed.I hope this helps.

Good luck. I hope you feel better soon. Keep us posted. Let us know if you have any other questions and please don't be a stranger.

Mike

Sorry you are so itchy. I have been using glove'n care on my itchy spots and it hlps big time. My best friend has a bad case of ppp on his arms and legs and says that it helps stop the itching as well. I know my dentist uses it to stop the itching on has hands to do to wearing latex gloves...so maybe there is soemthing in it that helps us as well. good luck... i know when i was a kid my aprents used to put me in tar and oatmeal baths too... oh those were fun days!!

Ask your dr. about HydrOXYzine, which is generic for Atarax. I get to sleep through the night without waking up tearing my skin apart. Good luck!

Someone here on these message boards once suggested to me to try Vicks Vapo Rub on my itchy spots. I thought they were crazy....until I tried it. The darn stuff works great for me! Maybe it might work for you, too. What can you lose? It's cheaper than dirt and you don't need a prescription. Good luck!

I've used Sarna lotion too and it does help. My pharmacist didn't have any in stock so he did order some - it was around $10 or $12 for the bottle (I think).....Good luck.

I've used Atarax (aka vistaril, hydroxyzine), but I have a very high tolerance for sedatives/antihistamines and even the max doses didn't cut it. My dermatologist put me on doxepin (Sinequan) a tricyclic antidepressant which has very strong antihistamine powers. It is very sedating and many people don't tolerate it (there's also risk of weight gain), but it has made a world of difference for me. I'm sleeping through the night, I don't have to run off to a bathroom and scratch furiously during the day....I love it.
