Hi Pso Family,

I want to thank everyone who shares their stories here and helps others, i wish i had a cure to help all of you including myself.

A few weeks ago i was combing my hair and i swear i must have had upto 2 inches of my hair when comb backed full of pso and i was so sad and i made a post about my situation and i was so close to shaving my head, but i have very long straight hair like a rock roll guy and i will not let this disease beat me and i will not give power to it. So what i did was I went to SAVON drugstore and bough J&J baby oil and i leaned my head back and practically pour close to 15 oz of baby oil all over my scalp front to back and i must have had it on me for over 13 ours and woke up in the morning and took a shower and then for 3-4 hours spent with a flea comb trying to get this crap out of scalp.

it made such a difference but the baby oil really made my hair have that greasy dirt look and then i went to the beauty store and bought a shampoo that takes build up and other extra stuff out of my hair and drys the moisture of the scalp, the baby oil made my scalp greasy.

Now i loved the shampoo but i went to the beauty store and i bought an ultra hydrating shampoo and conditioner by pureology. I put on the shampoo and then conditioner and my scalp starting to feel not too good, and then these lovely little bumps started to build up near my sideburns which i had to shave and then lots of them build up near my fore head.

Sorry for the long post, i went and bought J&J baby oil again and i was wondering if it is bad to use the whole thing and do that in less than 2-3 weeks since the last time i did it?

I was originaly going to get the P & S shampoo but couldnt find it so i used baby oil...so is this bad? I poured the whole thing pratically all over the head and it even covered my face as well....

GOD Bless you all and keep fighting and smiling...I fight this beast and Major Tinnitus every second i live on this earth and i am only 32...

I havd had tinnitus since age 14 and this garbage since 27

Hey, I can sympathize with you. I put vegatable oil on my scalp last night. Usually I use coconut oil but I was out. I have gotten temporary relief from putting oils on my head. It does tend to loosen some of the p so it can be combed or pulled out. I usually shampoo twice or three times to get the oil out. When the bumps came on with your new shampoo I wonder if you were having an allergic reaction on top of it all.

There is a medicated oil, I think it is a steroid oil that is via prescription that your dermatologist can get you. It helps a bit too.

I know what you are suffering. You are doing what I have found works for me so I don't have much to offer. I tend to use about a fourth of a cup of oil though and not a whole bottle. And I rub it in, massage it into the scalp.

Wish I could help more. Maybe someone else will have a newer idea.

• My 11 year old son developed scalp psoriasis about 4 months ago. After one month of using the usual treatments such as Nizoral shampoo coal tar shampoo and coal tar based scalp pastes I decided to opt for a different approach.

• I started by discontinuing all products that contained sodium laurate sulphate. This includes shower gels and hand washing.

• This was a difficult task as most of the recommended treatments for scalp psoriasis contain it.

• I encouraged him to expose his head and skin to as much natural sunlight as possible.

• I applied coconut oil and olive oil alternately every three or four nights. this remained on overnight covered by a shower cap and a towel to protect his pillow.

• The following morning his scalp was gently fine combed to remove scales and he showered using STS free shampoo and shower gel.

• There was one very obvious red patch just below the forehead. This resolved in two weeks with the application of Morhulin ointment.(a combination of zinc and cod liver oil)

• For the past month he has been taking Evening primrose oil 2000mg daily. (Contains vitamin E)

His scalp is still a little dry but after three months all the plaques and inflammation are gone. He told me in the last week that he wanted to discontinue the night time olive oil and coconut oil treatments so I have. He still continues to avoid SLS in all his skin care routines. That’s it I hope this helps some people as I remember how desperate I was in the beginning. I would encourage people to persist with this regime as it takes time to work.
