Hello everyone, i am wondering does anyone else get the dark spots where the "P" used to be? I am a light skinned guy and I am looking for a solution to even my skin tone on my face from the years of psoriasis takin a toll on my skin tone, sometimes I dont even know what my real skin tone is becasue ther are so many shades on my face, actually every inch of my body for that matter..... anybody have any info, my derm wont give me medicine for cosmetic reasons, he sees that i have come so far he does not recommend it sens my skin is looking pretty good right now... but i understand since that is not a necessity.... what works for you?

Hi there almcaffe!
I always seem to get a dark spot where my gp used to be once it clears. The dark spot will stay there for a LONG time, but eventually fades away without putting any medicine or cosmetics on it.
I've never tried them, but there are alot of skin tone smoothing face creams that claim to even out skin tone. You could try one of those...

I dont know if that is a recent pic of you or not...but your skin looks great. I dont see any dark spots!
Good Luck and welcome to the board :)

I'm a male who took desperate measures to deal with facial psoriasis. At one point, I had to use something to cover up redness. It was an eye concealer actually: Lancome, Effacernes. However, you are talking about possible hypo-/hyper-pigmentation. I would not think twice about approaching a cosmetic counter and working with light and easy products to even up your tone if it bothers you that much. I have approached two cosmetic departments, one at Filene's and the other at Macy's and BOTH were very nice and helpful to me. You might want to call in advance, ask them about what they have, and try something light (perhaps even Bare Essentials powder). The senior consultants are more helpful, I think.
