What a wacky year it has been! A year ago, out of the blue, my fore foot started hurting. Actually two fingers on my left hand and the third toe on my right foot started hurting at the same time. The fingers stopped hurting after awhile but the toe never stopped hurting. The pain grew as the days went by and it became more difficult to walk on the foot. Within a few weeks the forefoot was quite swollen and red to at times purplish. I went to a podiatrist and he said it was a vascular problem. To make a very long story short, after seeing several kinds of doctors, I ended up with a rheumatologist. A year later I still have dactylitis of the third toe and actually the big toe and second toe and part of the for foot is affected as well. I had psoriasis in my scalp for many years. At present it is pretty well cleared except for a few scales. I also have extensive scarring of the apical lobes of the lungs, I have vitiligo on my face and neck (non-symmetrical) and low thyroid. I have back and neck pain with various levels of degeneration of the spine. Before the foot episode I had a bout of frozen shoulder, and two bouts of trigeminal neuralgia. I mention these things in case they could be somehow related. I feel like a freakin' hypocondriac! Also this past year I have had lots of leg cramps and twitches, especially at night. They did do an arteriogram and ruled out any vascular problems as well as neurological tests to rule out any nerve problems. My blood work all came back negative. At present I am taking Lodine - it is helping the pain in the foot but not the dactylitis. The last few days I have had pain in the neck and upper back. Today it is radiating to the shoulder and chest. It is especially bad at night. I feel I can't tell anyone how I really feel. They will get sick of hearing about new pains. Any ideas anyone?
