My daughter suggested I try something the Dr. prescribed for my grandson called Elidel. It's pimecrolimus cream 1%. Has anyone ever tried this for their psoriasis?
Thanks,

Hey Granny05,
I used elidel very successfully around the edge of my scalp area, an area of the face where one shouldn't use heavy steroids.
Here's a link to a recent thread (http://www.psoriasis.org/forum/showthread.php?t=25666&highlight=elidel) where someone asked about elidel and got some great replies full of links ( thanks, Mikek!)-- :)

I've used both Elidel and Protopic, which I think are normally prescribed for eczema. Both worked pretty well for spots on my face.

Thanks so much. I'm going to try it.

Ok. I read through the threads and I don't think it will keep me from using it. I have to have something to clear up my face, ears, and scalp. I have five pretty good size spots on my leg and three or four on my trunk and will treat them too. Thanks easydoesit and alli for your help.

I applied Elidel last night before bed and again early this morning. I can already tell a difference! The itching is almost gone. The spots don't look much better, but the scaling isn't so bad, just after two applications! I don't know why I didn't use this before. Thanks eveyone for your information.

I had been prescribed Elidel & Protopic in the past for my face and although I did not see too much success with Elidel, I did with Protopic. The main difference (I think) is that Elidel is a cream and the Protopic is an ointment, so one may favor one over the other. Although I am not a huge fan of ointment, it did seem to work better for me. Good luck! Having P stinks, but when it's on your face, it stinks even more.

I've used both of these. While I like Elidel, Protopic works better for me. It's great for the ears too.
