I guess that now that my son's skin is so well controlled (10% vs. 70%), he has more trouble realizing why he can't do certain things...One of them is to take a bubble bath like his brothers do. So, I told him I would ask the "experts" and see if anyone knew a "safe" bubble bath that can be used with psoriasis. It's the bubbles that he's really after, so the aveeno oatmeal baths aren't cutting it :) Your suggestions would be appreciated. I must admit, it's nice to be "worrying" about the small stuff for a change!

Hi Theskinyouarein,
Long time no talk. :) I'm glad to hear that your son is doing so well.
I could have sworn that Julia (AmeliasMom) once recommended a bubble bath when she ran into a similar problem. Unfortunately, it turns out that she only mentioned them in passing when she answered her own post (after getting no responses). Here's the link to her post: http://www.psoriasis.org/forum/showthread.php?p=55183#post55183. We haven't heard from Julia in years, so I have no idea if she tried any of the products that she came across. I just checked out one of them: http://www.californiababy.com/super-sensitive-bubble-bath-13-oz.html. It looks very promising. Unfortunately, one person with psoriasis' poison is another person's solution and the only way to find out if something is going to cause a problem for your son is to try it. (Sigh) I would hate to see your son have a reaction to something, but I also hate to see him have to be deprived of something that might not cause his psoriasis to flare and that he might enjoy. ( I know -- there's no easy answer -- sigh.)
I hope this helps.
Good luck!
Mike

Greetings skinyouarein -
I read several postings praising glycerin soap, so I recently ordered some from Clearly Natural on the internet. In addition to the liquid glycerin soap, I bought two bottles of their bubble bath. (It doesn't contain glycerin but it says on the bottle "no artificial colorants, no sodium lauryl sulfate" and "pure essential oils.")
I have been using the bubble bath when I bathe (not because of the bubbles, but I don't want to have to deal with a ring around the tub!!) and it seems to be working just fine - doesn't seem to be causing any kind of skin problem. Perhaps this product would work for your son.
Good luck, DottieD

Thank you both. You have given me hope. I think it's worth a try. To be honest, I am not sure we ever saw a difference (for the worse) when we did use it, but it was so hard to tell back then and we prefer the more natural approach, when we can. So, I'm off to shop...thanks!

Hi DottieD, Just looked up the bubble bath and was wondering if you use the scented ones?
