Does anyone have any suggestions about how to improve the look of elbows?
If mine aren't covered in piles of scales, they look dark and dirty. I really do wash my elbows!! But they always have looked dirty and dry. I've started using Elidel on them so maybe that will make them look better. I try to wear sleeves that cover them, but even grown people will say something about them. You'd think once someone is old enough to be in the work force, they would have learned better. Anyway, just thought I'd check.
Thanks,

I use A Derma Exomega cream on my elbows. It has omega 6 & some french oats. Works for me. Try it.

Granny05, I understand...I think my elbows leave much to be desired. I feel lucky that I don't have to look at them much :) And, about those who are old enough to know better, but still say rude things...it's beyond me. I have found that adults are much more likely to say something about my son's psoriasis and are much more likely to say something really rude...!

my elbows are always scaley! even when the rest of my skin is doing better. i just moisturize them regularly with unscented cream, and wet them then put vaseline on. that works wonders for me. <3

I had pretty, smooth elbows for a few weeks during UV-B light treatment--then they went all scaly on me again (happily, at least the rest of me hasn't). I try lotions and the occasional dovonex/clobetosol combo, but have pretty much resigned myself to unpretty elbows. I figure, if I have to have two bad spots, there are worse places they could be!

Good luck!

Thanks everyone. Either they'll clear up with the new steroid cream the dr. gave me or they won't. I know it could be worse. My face and scalp are clearing up so I guess I really can't complain about elbows. I'm really glad I found this forum. Everyone is so very nice.
Thanks again!

I just put some lansino on my elbows when they start to bother me, and I'll exfoliate with sea salt. My son's plaque p cleared up rather nicely using psorolin. If you have any interest in trying something like that, check out the CAM forum. I've used the psorolin on myself, but since my elbows pretty much don't bother me most of the time, I forget to use it on myself!
