Has anyone out there come across people who have large areas of redden skin. My derm told me that I had plaque psoraiasis but now it looks as though there are large areas of my skin that are totally red. I have it on my back, thighs arms and hands. I know what plaque p looks like but this is something new. I'm having light treatments in the mean time because I am not on Humira yet. The reason for that is because the doctor thinks I have latent T.B. so to be on the safe side she decided to start me on INH pills. I'm thinking that this is what they call the beginning of Erythrodermic Psoraiasis where the skin becomes totally reddened then there can be problems. Is anyone out there with the same problem of redden psoraiasis?

Hi Mistyrose,

It's possible that you've been burned by the UVB treatment. A UVB burn can trigger an Erythrodermic (e-dermic) outbreak. I just sent an e-mail to several friends who've been e-dermic; I'm sure that they'll come along and share some additional thoughts with you.

In the meantime, please discuss your concerns with your derm. (Try to get an emergency appointment; you need to be seen A.S.A.P. Tell whoever answers the phone that you think that you're e-dermic and that you need to be seen today.) Here's a link to the NPF's description of e-dermic psoriasis; print it out and bring a copy with you when you to go the derm: http://www.psoriasis.org/about/psoriasis/erythrodermic.php. You may also need to refer to it when you speak to whoever answers that phone.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

Keep us posted and I hope you feel better soon.

Mike

Thanks Mike,

I'm going in today to get a light treatment. This will be my 3rd session. I will definitely talk with my derm to see what she says. But I would sure like to get info from friends of yours that have experience this situation. Again thank you.
