i am putting out a query to all who have tryed Limbrel.
have you noticed any improvement PA symptoms while on it?

i am considering pressing my rheumy to try it in hope i can come off celebrex. in its profile it is noted to be one of the safe alternatives to reduce inflammation. but clinically i wonder if there have been any measurable effects.

btw. i started humira april 07 and have experienced success. the joint pains are gone and tendonitis. i have been able to come off all prednisone. now i want to tackle coming off celebrex.

thanks to all for your response

Hi Caroli,

I have to confess that I've never heard of Limbrel. I just googled and discovered that it's approved as a treatment for osteoarthritis:

http://www.limbrel.com/;

http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/limbrel.htm.

It sounds interesting. A lot of medications are used "off label" as a treatment for something other then what they've been approved for. If your rheumy is willing to write the prescription and if your insurance company is willing to cover it, then it probably can't hurt to try Limbrel. It may turn out to be ineffective, but it also may help relieve your PA symptoms.

I hope this helps.

Mike

Hi Carol,

I tried Limbrel for a month I did not notice much difference and it gave me stomach cramps. It was also expensive and my insurance did not cover it.
