Hello All,

I thought life was great for about 12 days. I couldn't believe how great I felt. Then, I started to go down hill last weekend and took a nose dive on Monday. I had noticed I was feeling better when I cut dairy out of my diet.

I was supposed to have a remicade infusion last Thursday but it was very icy out in the morning, so I rescheduled it until this past Tuesday. I think I've learned that I NEED my remicade and can not afford to be late with it again. So, I think my formula is to take all of my medications on time, get lots of rest and avoid dairy.

Has anyone noticed their arthritis spreading to more joints? Before my dietary discovery, my lower body problems included right foot, left knee and left hip. Now, I've had so much pain in both of my knees and both of my hips along with my right foot.

Yesterday, I wanted to just curl up and wait for the pain to go away. That really doesn't work. ;) My neck was throbbing. I was almost to the point of going to the ER because the pain felt almost unbearable. This was after 3 percocets too! I had taken two in the morning and another one at lunch because the first two didn't do anything. Luckily, my neck is better today and the rest of me is still a mess. I can tolerate the rest. My weakness is always neck or lower back pain. My pain threshold is not as high as it is with other areas.

I hope everyone on the east coast survives this weekend's snow/ice storms! I think we should all get our heating pads ready. :(

I'm sorry your run of good days has ended. Without a doubt the pain moves around. It sometimes goes places I didn't know were joints. The neck and lower back are bad spots for me as well. It was the neck ones that sent me to the ER several times (not recently, knock on wood). I would get those combo headaches, migraines that would last for days and just for good measure a tension headache that would settle in the right rear neck. When I went to the ER my blood pressure would be through the roof. 1 itty bitty shot of morphine and I was fine (except they would make me stay there until the morphine wore off!).

Yep the pain does move around. Although you can limit it with the drugs.

Oh and for some reason with me, a few joints are constantly affected (knees), well basically just the knees and my right hip. Other joints randomly come into play (lower back, 3rd toe on right foot, index finger right hand, left jaw, right side of neck) and then it goes away..

Hmmm.. after reading my own list of areas affected, is it just me or is my right side of my body mainly affected. Could be coincidence, but as V would say, 'there is no such thing as coincidence, just the illusion of coincidence'.

I do sometimes curl up into a ball and hope the pain goes too... but unfortunately my knees hurt when they are bent for prolonged periods, and infact it is much better for me to keep my legs straight. So everytime i sit down, my legs are straight out.

ANyway, never had any of that remicide stuff. I have had a steriod injection to my right finger however, and everything has been fine around that joint (although upper end of finger is now affected), for around 6 months. (knock on wood too). Not that i believe in luck.

its 1.16 am here atm so night!

Hi there!

Yes, I'm on Remicade, too, and have noticed the arthritis spreading. I have certain joints that always hurt (SI, R hand and ankle), but others have always moved around. Lately, though, some of the moving pain seems to stay in the same place more frequently, and/or doesn't move out as quickly as I think it should!

I can always tell when its time for my next infusion, I get achy and itchy. I scheduled mine a little far apart when I went to Italy this last summer, and boy did I wish I could have done it on time! I paid for that one, lol.

Hope you start feeling better when you get your Remicade this week!
