Hi,my daughter has just been diagnosed with psoriasis. She has been to many doctors and was told it was ringworm,so we treated her for ringworm for 6 months finally we got sick of these iddiot doctors and went to a dermatologist that said she definatly has psoriasis. What I was wondering about is if anyone else has expirenced any redness in the eye(like blood shot).Iam also a little worried about arthritis in children. And if anyone has a child with arthritis associated with this please contact me ,my daughter has been complaning of leg and chest pain for a year and a half and I assumed it was growing pains now Iam starting to wonder?Does this happen to children with psoriasis or is the arthritis associated more with long term disease? If anyone can help with my questions that would really help us.The doctors treat us like we are looking to much into this,Thanks so much for any info any of you might have! wish you all well,Cyndi(Chloe`s mom)

Dear Cindy,
I am so sorry to hear about your daughter. I hope it gets better for you. How old is Chloe?
My daughter is 12 and she has complained about stomach pain. This can be confusing because it is high in her chest. Kylynn gets internal stuff. We think it might be panic and anxiety.
Good luck with Chloe and stick with a pediatric dermatolgist. You are doing the right thing.

Cyndi- I certainly understand the worry about arthritis......Emily also complains about her legs aching more now also and I worry everyday if it can be something worse than just growing pains....her dr says everything looks ok and they don't really understand the link between psoriasis and arthritis....I think it is my biggest fear right now....The psoriasis we can live with!
Let me know what the doctor says! and welcome aboard!

HI and welcome, I just found this site a few weeks ago and it has been a blessing. You are so right about having to educate yourself because there is just so much info out there. My daughter is 14 months and was diagnosed at 10 wks and I am learning more and more all the time.
Take care and good luck

I am 21 and have PA. I feel really awkward in school when it is hard to sit in my 3 hour classes and I just have to get up and walk around. My best advice it to excersize and keep moving. I was in PT for a while and it helped a bit. If it is really severe some of the oral treatments for psoriasis I have read also treat PA. Talk to your derm and keep moving.
