Hi everyone,
I'm brand new here. My daughter (almost 9) was diagnosed just about 2 1/2 weeks ago with P. We're very familiar with it in my family, as my mother has it very severe. She's had it all her life, since she was 10, so it was not really hard to figure out when I noticed the patch on my daughter's elbow one day. I knew right away that this was what she had. Anyway, the good thing is that at least we know alot about this already, we didn't have to worry alot about if it could spread, was it contagious etc. We already knew those things. My daughter also is looking forward to spending 'quality' time with her grandma in the summer sunning their legs together. LOL.

In addition to her elbow (only one right now) she's got it in a few places on her legs, mostly the backs of her legs behind her knees. Still, its pretty mild. So, she spent 2 weeks using Temovate cream (clobetasol .05%) it seemed like it was working beautifully at first, but once we stopped using it after 2 weeks (which was 3 days ago) it seems to be coming back - at least the reddness is there again, but no scales. Is this normal? Our family dr said to only use it for 2 weeks as well. Also, I made an appt with a pediatric dermatologist for her. I figured that we'd need to see one sooner or later.

Thats our tale. I hope to talk to some of the other mom's soon!

It sounds like you are doing all of the right things. You know what is happening, and what you might expect. Go with your experience, and I am certain you will do the best possible for your child.

Best of luck to you.
