This message briefly explains how to change the look of your message, to add an image or to change your profile.
**********************************
To change the text of your message
**********************************
These message boards allow you to add images and URLs, and to change the color, font or size of your text.
When you click on "post reply" or "new thread," you will see buttons above the text box. These buttons allow you to insert text into a window that changes the look of your text.
B = bold
I = talics
U = underline
SIZE = size of your text
FONT = style of your text
COLOR = color of your text
For example, if you click on the "B" button a window appears on your screen that says "Script Prompt: Enter the text to be formatted." You then enter the text that you want bolded in your message in the white text box, and click "OK."
Or, to bold your text directly in your message box, without clicking on the B button, you would enter:
[:)B]this text is bold[:)/B]
(minus the smilies. The smilies are added so that tags show correctly in this FAQ).
Here is the exact same line without the smilies.
this text is bold
************************************
To add color or change the size or font
************************************
To use color, select which color to use from the COLOR dropdown menu. FONT and SIZE also offer different options in a dropdown menu.
As with making your text bold, you can select the option from the dropdown menu, type your text in the Script Prompt window, and select OK.
To use them in a tag,
[:)color=tomato]This tag will be tomato colored[:)/color]
without quotation marks
This tag will be tomato colored
Don't forget the closing tags. If you change the text color or size, add a [/COLOR][/SIZE] at the end of your message.
*******************
To add an image
*******************
To add an image to your message, click on the IMG button.
Then, select your image. The image must exist on a Web site in order to show up.
Copy the URL (where it lives) of the image. For example, one of our images is located here:
http://www.psoriasis.org/images/people/pov_01.jpg
To insert that image into a message, paste the URL into the Script Prompt IMG window and click "OK."
Or, to insert the image without clicking on the IMG button, write the tags around the URL in the text message.
[:)IMG]http://www.psoriasis.org/images/people/HP_01.jpg[:)/IMG]
Here is the same image tag without the smilies.
http://www.psoriasis.org/images/people/HP_01.jpg
-------
REMEMBER: The image must already be on the Internet.

**************************************
To change more than one element in text
**************************************
To change both the color and size of your text, insert open and close tags directly into the message box around the text.
[COLOR=orange][FONT=12]Orange text, size 12[/FONT=12] [/COLOR=orange]
***********************
To change your profile
***********************
You may add additional information about yourself to your profile. This will appear in the left column under your username, on every new thread or message.
To add or change your profile, click on the small "user cp" button in the top left corner. This button stands for "user control panel”, and contains links to changing your profile, your options, buddy list, ignore list and private messages. To learn more about these options, click on the "f.a.q." button in the top left corner of the page.
The Edit Profile page allows you to include more contact information, such as a home page or private message handles for ICQ or Yahoo Instant Messenger. You can also add a signature that appears under each new message and your birthdate, if you’d like.
