Hi! i have just become a member and I would like to share a treatment for p that really has been effective for me. I was 17 yrs old when i first broke out with p and practically over night my entire body broke out in scabs that were cracking bleeding and not to mention i felt like a freak. A bit later I came across an herbal tea recepie that has really helped me deal with p. Within one month of drinking this tea I was cleared, and stayed clear for quite some time. Now when i have break outs Ill start drinking the teas again. I just wanted to share this with all of you, maybe it will work for you as well!
30 gm. - Willow Bark (white)
30 gm. - Greater Celandine
50 gm.- Stinging Nettle
20 gm. - Walnut husks (or hulls)
10 gm - Oak Bark (white)
30 gm. - Speedwell
20 gm. - Fumitory
30 gm. - Calendula
20 gm. - Yarrow
28 grams = 1 oz.
place 1 heaping tsp. per boiling cup of water and infuse for 3 mins. Drink 1.5 - 2 liters per day.
I would basically make enough tea for the day and just put it in a 2 liter and drink it through the day. I hope this can also help someone else

Did you do anything else that you can think of, besides just drink the tea? Foods, meds, lower stress levels, more sun?
How did you discover that this blend worked?

well ive never been on any psoriasis meds...im a bit leary of conventional doctors..plus many of the side effects from some of the meds jsut scare me...and my stress levels were definitely going down once i saw my skin clearing up =) that helped too...anyway besides from the tea i was just using Eucerin to keep my skin soft...and i stopped drinking in the book it mentioned that p was caused by a malfunction in the liver..the author of the book is Maria Treben and the name of the book is Healing Through Gods Pharmacy...or something close to that...i have the book somewhere in my house...i keep the recipe on a sheet of paper so i dont have to go digging for it every time you can email me if youd like ill be able to answer anything else for ya =)

hi heavenly
there is a store by me that sells just about every herb under the sun...they also sell through the internet so if you cant find a local herbal store you can order through www.pennherb.com....usually when id get the teas id buy about 2oz of each at a time and that will last for a bit...and runs me about $30...green tea is a great cleanser...this mixture is similar to green tea because they are all cleansers of one kind or another...even stinging nettle alone is great to drink its another cleanser and is great for skin and hair =) ...ive never actually been to the penn herb website because i dont live far away and in the store they also sell many books and other vitamins...if they also sell books on the site or if you can find it elsewhere check out the book by Maria Treben - Healing Through Gods Pharmacy...in it are many other recipes for other ailments as well =) feel free to email me...and please let me know if it works for you too =)

How is the smell and taste of this tea?
I had acupuncture doctor from Asia that I was seeing for a bit. My body was doing great. He gave to me some herbal treatments (Pill form) along with the acupuncture. After some time he gave me some herbal tea that he said wold be great for my P.
IM not sure exactly what it was but it consisted of roots/bark and other natural items. I prepared by boiling the herbs in water. the smell of the tea was very unpleasant. I had to pinch my nose to drink the tea and could hardly gut it. I was to drink four 8-12 oz servings a day. I did this for one day. The smell and taste were so bad that I tossed the rest out and stuck to green tea.

hey frost
the tea does have a bit of a nasty taste...but its not very strong...defintely not unbearable...maybe because im used to it...id say give it a try if you cant deal with the taste maybe honey or sugar might help =)

Hi Dasval!
I too have got this special herbal tea from a store in Toronto. Same exact ingredents, and I have been using it for 5 months now. I don't drink 2 liters a day, only 1 liter. The recommened is 1.5 but I can't possibly drink all that. I have had tremendous results with this tea (I also take speical herbal creams). My P has cleared up considerably, You can hardly see them!
If it works for me and for you... Why the hell can't it work for others??
This is proof baby!

Commando, did you get the tea with the herbs already combined or did you combine them yourself?
Valerie, it would be great to hear more from you on a regular basis. Of course you may not have incentive to write if your p is under control. Thanks for your information. -kiki

To the first question, yes I did get the herbs already combined. It cost me 20 dollars i think for like 3 months supply.
To the second question, I got the tea herbs from a herbal store at 2650 Danforth road. But before I went there, I went to a store (100 Advacned road) just off kipling. The woman there works closely with this herbal place, she ordered dertimitis tea for me, and I just picked it up. If you go to the Herbal store, make sure you tell him/her to mix the exact ingreidents mentioned above.
Thanks for your interest. You will be pleasently surprised :)

have you ever heard of milk thistle as a liver aid...My dh had a triple bypass (smoker) a couple years ago...and during the many, many tests he got .....the kidneys started reacting from one of the tests....the doctors all got concerned and sent him to a renal specialist....we couldnt get an appt for a month....so I started him on milk thistle (used for years all over europe) we had one month to try it....
a few days before the visit to the dr he had to have another blood test for liver.....when he saw the dr. the doc was reading the tests and looked up amazed...he was comparing the new test with the old one sent over by his heart doc.......... because of the improvement in just one month...before he was rxed for any meds...
so we told him about milk thistle...he was very interested, never gave him a prescription and had him come in monthly for tests...til he finally gave him a clean bill.
now I didnt know if something for the liver would help with the kidneys but I remembered reading somewhere that it did..so I researched it and found a source for info on it...
I know you have to be careful but I just wanted to point out milk thistle and let you do your own search...(google.com)
here is one place I found that I had bookmarked
http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/alt/milkthistle_faq.htm
they do mention that it may reduce outbreaks of Psoriasis due to liver disease....
good luck which ever way you go...this is such a nasty disease without added complications
I found ours at THE VITAMIN SHOPPE (don't own stock in co,) for 100 caps...70 mgs...$20

Thistle? yep.
Being a seasoned drinker, I know the power of it & what got my attention was the fact that you said you 'started' him on it.
Are you proffessional or..........??

I think Valerie means a member of this board....a newbie and an interesting one at that.....sounds interesting for our ALTERNATIVE thread....
no not a professional just a concerned wife who wanted to help my mate of 53 years.......he is not the least bit interested in health (as you can see a smoker STILL) even after heart surgery......maybe I am a pro after all been studying for 50 years the ins and outs of health...ever since the oldest child had severe allergies...and I had to start reading labels etc.

I am leary of all prescription drugs because I am super senstive to so many...When you read the nasty side effects of drugs I will end up have lots of them so I am very careful...
But I am also leary of natural remedies to because of side effects...
I am certianly not an expert on either...One think I have an over abundance of in my yard is comfrey...It was used as a tea for many years and it has been known to cause liver damage...

but........I'm drinking the dandelion tea...and I do take milk thistle (after doing research on it first).
however, I think herbs have a place in healing...they've been around for centuries........there are dangers to drugs and dangers to herbs................here are a couple sites I found while looking into comfrey.....
before taking any drug or herb I would check it out.

notice, in the article, acetaminophen and the damage it causes. too....tylenol!!! yikes
