alternative cream

Hi,
I was diagn. with P by a derm specialist 3 weeks back, he prescribe steriod cream for my P which appear on my back, chest and fore arm. the steriod cream works at first but the P came back after a few days. I went to seek help from a chinese physician, i was told the chinese name for my condition is "cow skin rash" - literally translated. he pounded some traditional chinese plants & herbs together to form a white paste. When i apply it onto affected parts of my body, i found that it is really quite effective, the P on my body are gradually disappearing...

I, too, am interested in finding a dr. who practices traditional Chinese medicine but haven't been able to get a referral from anyone. How did you go about finding yours? A friend told me she went to one in SF Chinatown but he didn't speak much english and that presented a bit of a problem for her.

The paste sounds especially interesting since I've heard that some of the teas are reallly nasty tasting. -kiki

Hi Yuppie,

I have tried the herbal tea, it was so foul! I wouldn't normally stray from 'normal' methods of treatment however the chinese doc had good photographic evidence of curing psoriasis (plus I actually spoke to a lady in the waiting room who had cured one of her ongoing health problems by drinking the tea)so I though I would give it a go. I boiled up the bag of twigs and leaves exactly as instructed and came up with the most horrid smelling/tasting drink. It really was so bad that I couldn't drink it, even the more diluted versions I made were unbearable! You really need to have no tastebuds to be able to drink that stuff :eek: I haven't heard of the paste before, but if it's working for you it can't be bad :)

thks Cara, the white paste is for external application on the skin and it has work well for me, as of today, the P on me has cleared. I'm trying to find out the exact ingredient used to make this cream. Also, two weeks back, I have started taking Pcynogenol or Pine bark extract on a daily basis, i'm very sure it has help much in clearing my P. Just like to share this info with u pple out there.
