"Be the change you want to see in the world" -Mohandas Gandhi

Please join us on May 16-17, as we make our voices heard in the halls of Congress. The first annual National Psoriasis Foundation "Capitol Hill Day" will provide you with the opportunity to meet like-minded members of the psoriasis community and personally deliver an important message about psoriasis to Congress.

Can't make it to Capitol Hill? We still need your help. Everyone benefits whenever we share our talents, expertise and experiences. Connect with other proactive people and write letters from home or visit your state, local, and national representatives in your own community. Wide-ranging opportunities exist for people who want to make a difference.

Email me at jshearer@psoriasis.org for more info and volunteer advocacy opportunities. Keep checking our Web site for Capitol Hill Day updates and other ways to get involved.

Tara and everyone else,

Check out the Capitol Hill Day page on the Foundation Web site: http://www.psoriasis.org/resources/advocacy/capitol_hill_day.php

This page should be updated by early next week (Mon/Tues) so make sure to check back again then.

Capitol Hill Day is an opportunity for people who want the federal government to play a larger role in improving the lives of people with P and PsA. The governement can take significant action to benefit the entire psoriasis community, including: spending more money on P and PsA research, creating programs that will attract more dermatologists and rheumatologists to treat P and PsA, approving safer and more affective treatments, etc.

The benefit of having Foundation members and volunteers attend (rather than only staff) is that the more people that show up, the more powerful the message is. Anybody that reads the posts on these message boards knows that there are a lot of motivated people, and people with powerful personal stories, within the psoriasis community. The Foundation wants to facilitate the communication of YOUR stories and YOUR passion to our elected officials. Those Representatives and Senators in Washington, DC are there to represent YOU. If enough of us ask Congress for the right things, in the right way, there is no doubt that the lives of people with P and PsA will improve.

So please sign up for Capitol Hill Day next week. If you're interested now, email me at advocacy@psoriasis.org, I will add your name to our growing list, and I will let you know when the complete schedule and registration form are up on the web.

Don't hesitate to email me directly with questions, and please spread the word to anyone who may be interested.

Thanks!

We have updated Capitol Hill Day info and schedule up on the Web site: http://www.psoriasis.org/resources/advocacy/capitol_hill_day.php It just went live 5 minutes ago.

Check it out, download the registration form, and mail/fax it in to me! It's going to be a great opportunity to send a message to Congress, and the more people that come, the stronger that message becomes.

Feel free to email me any questions: advocacy@psoriasis.org

Thanks!
Joey
