HEY EVERYBODY... I READ THROUGHOUT THE FORUM THAT ENBREL REALLY HELP OUT NAIL P. THE PROBLEM IS MY INSURANCE - KAISER PERMANENTE - DOESN'T COVER IT AND MY DERM. TOLD ME ITS REALLY EXPENSIVE. HE DOESN'T SOUND LIKE A BIG FAN OF ENBREL EITHER. HE TOLD ME ITS LIKE FIFTY THOUSAND IF I PAY FOR IT MYSELF. HE ALSO MENTIONED THAT THERES A HIGH RISK OF GETTING CANCER FROM ENBREL. HE SOUNDS LIKE HE'S FEEDING ME B.S. JUST CUS KAISER DOESN'T COVER IT.

FOR THOSE WHO'S TAKING ENBREL I WANNA KNOW WHAT KIND OF INSURANCE DO U GUYS HAVE? AND IS THERE ANYWAY I COULD GET ENBREL FOR REALLY CHEAP OR FOR AN AFFORDABLE PRICE?

Out of pocket expense for enbrel is about $1400 a month. I have Humana (in Florida) and I pay $35 co-pay each month provided that I use a specific mail order pharmacy. There is a way to get enbrel free if you qualify. Check out http://www.needymeds.com
That program does work, but it's a tad confusing and you would need to show some sort of financial hardship. Not all meds can be aquired via NeedyMeds, but it happens that enbrel is one of them. Don't forget about resources that can be found through the NPF, such as patient advocacy, which may be able to help you apeal to your insurance company for approval.

I have Aetna HMO (Chicago, IL) and my co-pay is $40 a month as long as I use a specific pharm. (Like Chaim)

Go to the website http://www.enbrel.com and get the customer service number. Call and tell them you are looking for financial assitance. They will give you the med. for free if you qualify. If you don't have insurance and your yearly income is within the quidelines they will send a letter to your Doctor to fill out requesting it for you and you will recieve it free. That's all I had to do, but I was over the income guide lines:(.
