already went to needy meds, but the only program requires a doc visit - which i seriously cant afford. Is it illegal for a person to ask another psoriasis sufferer to get a prescription from their doc, fill it, then give it to another person? I would think there might be legal ramifications.

but im desperate too

Hi Malcolm,

I'm sorry that you're going through such a rough time. :( Have you tried using Baker's P&S Liquid? (Here's a link to a description of it: http://www.dermadoctor.com/product.asp?WID=%7B607779B7%2D0C4F%2D4033%2D833C%2 DDA7B2064E6A3%7D&productid=206.) It's available over the counter, usually by special order. It's kind of messy to use, because it's oil based and has to be left on -- covered by a shower cap -- for at least a couple of hours. The oil softens the scales and helps whatever over the counter shampoo i.e. Dermarest (www.dermarest.com), or MG217 (www.mg217.com) you are using do it's thing.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.

Mike

methatrexate - which obviously i cant afford, and i had some liver problems, so i might not be able to get only it again anyway, at leats not without a liver biopsy

and olux. i actually used olux everywhere. had a real cool derm, who understood that sometimes we know our body better than they do. i was on olux for 3 months straight, and was even using it on my face twice a week to maintain a couple spots that reoccurred due to shaving

i know, not supposed to use it that way. but it was effective. my legs were almost clear, and used with protopic, the redness was gone. And i was only passing out twice a day (just kidding...no side effects. except i cant have kids. again, just kidding)

oh, one other thing has worked, but only for one area. i just recently tanned for a month (not straight, obviously...lol), and my face - which had really broken out - cleared up 100%

cant tell you how much of a relief that was

but olux is the only thing ever strong enough. id really like to get soem z-pack (anti-biotics), with another prescription of olux and protopic

if wishes were dollar bills, id be a rch man

You should look for clinical trials in your area. For one, they are free. Secondly, the doctor's visits are free too. Lastly, many of the drug companies will keep the patients on the meds at no cost.

I dont know about all of you, but everytime I walk out of the derm Im left with a little baggie of samples. It never hurts to ask. Next time youre at the derm if you go to the derm ask them for some samples!
