This is sort of complicated, so let me explain. I am disabled and get SSI, a federal program. I live in CA, which gives people on that program medical coverage under a state program called Medi-Cal.
As for my psoriasis, no private dermatologists accept it (usually) so I had to go to the public county clinic, which offered cortisone cream and methotrexate. Period. Luckily, one local derm decided to take Medi-Cal patients when the county closed it's derm clinic, so I got in. The photo treatments cleared about half my psoriasis. When I start missing my twice weekly sessions my P starts to spread.
I am thinking of moving to FL or TX, but I'm worried about medical coverage. Are any of you in TX or FL on SSI? Do you get any medical coverage? Does it cover P treatments like photo therapy? I will be living on $550 a month, so I won't be able to afford the topical creams, let alone light treatments. And without them my P will spread like wildfire.
Thanks,
Cheri
