Patient assistance foundations

Patient assistance foundations may assist with high out-of-pocket costs, such as co-pays, depending on available funding.

HealthWell Foundation—800.675.8416

The HealthWell Foundation is an independent, charitable organization that provides financial assistance to individuals for insurance premiums, prescription drug co-insurance, co-payments and deductibles, and other select out-of-pocket health costs. Individuals covered by private insurance, employer-sponsored plans, Medicare or Medicaid may be eligible to participate.

Patient Advocate Foundation—1.866.512.3861

The Patient Advocate Foundation's Co-Pay Relief program provides direct financial support to insured patients, including Medicare Part D beneficiaries, who must financially and medically qualify to access pharmaceutical co-payment assistance.

PAF also provides case management services to patients to remove obstacles to healthcare including medical debt crisis, insurance access issues and employment issues for patients with chronic, debilitating and life-threatening illnesses.

Patient Access Network Foundation*—866.316.7263

The Patient Access Network Foundation supports insured patients who cannot afford the high out-of-pocket costs associated with their medical care. Only patients with plaque psoriasis are eligible.

*Waitlist: As of January 2010, PAN's website states – Funding is not currently available.  Patients who meet all eligibility criteria and have been approved are placed on a waitlist and receive assistance once funding becomes available.  Although they’re not guaranteed assistance, we do continue to accept and process patient applications."

National Organization for Rare Diseases*— 1.800.634.7207

NORD administers programs to assist uninsured or under-insured individuals in securing life-saving or life-sustaining medications. Depending on funding, NORD may assist with medications for psoriasis.

*As of October 2009 funding is not currently available for psoriasis.
