National Psoriasis Foundation Teams With Yahoo! to Create Psoriasis Health Center
First posted July 31, 2003
Yahoo! Health today announced the launch of the Psoriasis Health Center, a new educational resource with content provided by the National Psoriasis Foundation. The center will help educate the public and dispel myths about the immunological skin disorder psoriasis.
The launch coincides with National Psoriasis Awareness Month in August. The month is recognized in an effort to increase public awareness about psoriasis and provide hope to psoriasis patients. While most people opt for shorts and t-shirts in the summer heat, psoriasis patients who are often embarrassed by their affected skin tend to cover up with full-length clothing.
The Yahoo! Health Psoriasis Health Center will provide additional ways to educate and inform people affected by psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Content for the Yahoo! Health Psoriasis Health Center is provided by sources such as the National Psoriasis Foundation and YourMedicalSource.com. Visitors will have access to:
- New and regularly updated information about psoriasis and treatments;
- Easy-to-use links to a variety of psoriasis information including causes, Frequently Asked Questions and reference materials;
- Details about clinical trials and locations of physicians;
- Support groups and online communities based on geographic location or special interests; and
- News articles of interest to psoriasis patients and their friends and family.
