Psoriasis Foundation responds to Carson Daly talk show
On March 24, 2005, the National Psoriasis Foundation responded to an episode of the "Last Call with Carson Daly" show that contained a segment where Daly and guest Rocco DiSpirito used a "psoriasis cheese grater" in the shape of a human arm with scales on it.
In a letter to the program's executive producer, David Friedman, the Psoriasis Foundation provided education about this painful and chronic disease.
The incident highlights the need for raising awareness through education and advocacy. The Psoriasis Foundation asks those who observe offensive remarks in the media to contact us at 800.723.9166 or e-mail getinfo@psoriasis.org
We will respond appropriately to these remarks as a unified voice.
