Biogen announces plans to sell Amevive

Biogen Idec announced on Sept. 8 that it plans to sell the Amevive (alefacept) brand psoriasis drug. Read the letter from Biogen Idec to the psoriasis community in PDF format.*

Biogen has stated that it will continue to support Amevive during this interim period. According to the company, Amevive will continue to be manufactured and will remain available through normal distribution channels. Customer service and medical support will also continue uninterrupted.

In January 2003, Amevive became the first biologic approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of psoriasis. Learn more about Amevive.
