Research grant recipients
When the National Psoriasis Foundation was founded in 1968, there was very little activity in the field of psoriasis research. One of the initial goals of the founding members of the Psoriasis Foundation was to spark greater interest in psoriasis research. Today, thanks in large part to the work of the Foundation, research activity in psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis is at an all-time high.
The Psoriasis Foundation is committed to supporting research, and through financial support, advocacy and other means, we move closer to a cure. Each year, the Psoriasis Foundation spends hundreds of thousands of dollars in support of research.
The Foundation's seed grant program emphasizes innovative psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis research projects in genetics, immunology or clinical research focused on understanding the mechanism of the disease. The program is designed to provide researchers with funding to generate preliminary data that can be used in grant applications to the National Institutes of Health. Our seed grant program is integral to our research and advocacy strategies.
