Michael Macleod

Director of Principal Giving

Michael Macleod is responsible for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major outright and planned gift prospects by matching and advancing NPF's fundraising priorities with prospective donors’ interests. He also helps to create individual engagement and solicitation strategies to increase NPF’s philanthropic and in-kind support from individuals and family foundations.

Macleod was previously with JDRF as their Leadership Giving Director for five years, but also served as a JDRF volunteer and local chapter board member for five years prior. In both roles, he helped facilitate a donor-centric model by learning the needs of JDRF's top supporters, and aligning their interests in research to help grow JDRF's mission to cure, treat, and prevent type 1 diabetes, a life-threatening autoimmune disease. Previously, Michael was in wealth management, working closely with high net worth individuals, families, and private foundations in planned giving and wealth advising. Michael lives in South Florida where he enjoys his role as a midfielder for the Buzzards, the 2020 Florida State Men's Lacrosse League champions.
