APP Mentorship Application

Program Goals

The National Psoriasis Foundation's Advanced Practice Provider mentorship program will give participants a unique educational opportunity to increase competence related to:

  • Fostering strong interprofessional connections within medical dermatology
  • Recognizing, treating, and managing psoriasis and its associated comorbidities
  • Applying evidence-based best practices to deliver individualized, patient-centered care
  • Integrating shared-decision-making strategies to enhance personalized care and patient engagement
  • Collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary colleagues for expanded access to care and improved outcomes.

Mentorship Model

Using a dyad model of mentorship, selected applicants will be paired with a member of the NPF’s APP Advisory Committee. It is expected that all mentors will establish a regular cadence of meetings with their mentees, either in person or virtually. The mentor/mentee relationship will last for a minimum of six months with periodic assessments of effectiveness and satisfaction. Mentor/mentee dyads will be provided the opportunity to attend the 2026 Future Leaders in Psoriatic Disease meeting to be held October 2-3, 2026.

About the National Psoriasis Foundation

The National Psoriasis Foundation is the leading nonprofit representing individuals with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. The mission of NPF is to drive efforts to cure psoriatic disease and improve the lives of more than 8 million individuals in the United States affected by this chronic immune-mediated disease.

NPF is uniquely positioned to bridge both knowledge and practice gaps for dermatology NPs and PAs. The representation of APPs on the NPF Medical Board, combined with a newly formed APP Advisory Committee, allows for the creation of training programs that are connected to the broader dermatology and clinical research community, yet led by APPs themselves.
