World Psoriasis Day is Oct. 29. Take action!

Psoriasis isn’t limited by borders. There are 125 million people around the world who live every day with this disease. Fortunately, the fight against psoriasis isn’t limited by borders, either.

The International Federation of Psoriasis Association (IFPA) represents 55 countries, from Argentina to Vietnam. Every year for more than 10 years, IFPA has sponsored World Psoriasis Day on Oct. 29. This day – conceived by patients, for patients – is when we unite as a global community with these goals:
  • To fight prejudice, stigmatization and discrimination;
  • To raise awareness, understanding and hope; and
  • To gain access to proper diagnosis, treatment and an improved quality of life.
This year, the National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) wants everyone to take action towards a better understanding of psoriatic disease. Since World Psoriasis Day is on a Sunday, NPF invites you to participate in a weekend of action.

We’ve created a web page where you can find suggested actions to take, from learning about new treatment options and cooking a healthy, balanced meal, to getting more sleep and talking with someone about psoriasis. All of the actions listed will help you live a healthier life with psoriasis. The site also has a cool calendaring feature that will allow you to schedule your action on your digital calendar so you won’t forget it.

We hope you’ll join us and the millions of people across the United States and around the world who will commit to take at least one action towards living a better life with psoriasis.

Driving discovery, creating community

For more than 50 years, we’ve been driving efforts to cure psoriatic disease and improve the lives of those affected. But there’s still plenty to do! Learn how you can help our advocacy team shape the laws and policies that affect people with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis – in your state and across the country. Help us raise funds to support research by joining Team NPF, where you can walk, run, cycle, play bingo or create your own fundraising event. If you or someone you love needs free, personalized support for living a healthier life with psoriatic disease, contact our Patient Navigation Center. And keep the National Psoriasis Foundation going strong by making a donation today. Together, we will find a cure.
