NPF's Medical Professional Awards program celebrates and recognizes those who have made an impact on the psoriatic disease field.
Award Categories
Outstanding Educator in Psoriatic Disease
To honor highly meritorious efforts by health professionals in the field of psoriatic disease education.
Criteria for Selection
• Nominee will have demonstrated significant, long-term national and/or international contributions to psoriatic disease education, with evidence of benefit to recipients of education and of current activities in the field.
• Education can be on or at multiple levels i.e., students, trainees, advanced providers, or peers.
• Publications and teaching experience are factors in the selection process.
• Contributions and volunteer service to both national and international psoriatic disease organizations and the broader psoriatic disease community may also be taken into consideration.
• Nominee must be a current professional member of the National Psoriasis Foundation.
Outstanding Physician-Clinician Award (Dermatology and Rheumatology)
To recognize a physician for outstanding achievements in improving psoriatic disease clinical practice and a physician that has played a major or lasting role with national impact in improving the quality of life of patients and their families. In this category, we recognize one dermatologist and one rheumatologist.
Criteria for Selection
• Nominee is actively involved in the clinical care of patients with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis.
• Nominee is recognized and highly regarded as a clinician and educator of health care professionals with >10 years of distinguished service.
• Nominee is well-known nationally and/or internationally for exceptional clinical knowledge and expertise.
• Nominee has outstanding track record of sharing his/her expertise with other health care professionals as documented by presentations and/or authorship of books /articles/reference materials.
• Contributions and volunteer service to both national and international psoriatic disease organizations and the broader psoriatic disease community may also be taken into consideration.
• Nominee must be a current professional member of the National Psoriasis Foundation.
Health Professional Volunteer of the Year Award
This award recognizes a health care professional who has promoted the mission of the National Psoriasis Foundation in improving the lives of people with psoriatic disease through exceptional contributions to key initiatives of NPF in one or more of the major pillars, Research, Education, Advocacy, or Fundraising.
Criteria for Selection
• Nominee is actively involved in the clinical care of patients with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis and highly regarded as a clinician with >5 years of distinguished service.
• Nominee must have been actively involved in the NPF at the affiliate, local, or national level within the last five years, and have a history of contributions to NPF goals and objectives that can be demonstrated by at least two of the following examples or other equivalent: Committee member, News contributor, Events chairperson, Events volunteer, Speaker
• Contributions and volunteer service to both national and international psoriatic disease organizations and the broader psoriatic disease community may also be taken into consideration.
• Nominee must be a current professional member of the National Psoriasis Foundation.
Advanced Provider Award
To recognize an advanced health care provider for outstanding achievements in improving psoriatic disease clinical practice and that has played a major or lasting role with national impact in improving the quality of life of patients and their families.
Criteria for Selection
• Nominee is actively involved in the clinical care of patients with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis.
• Nominee is recognized and highly regarded as a clinician with >5 years of distinguished service.
• Nominee is well-known nationally or internationally for exceptional clinical knowledge and expertise.
• Contributions and volunteer service to both national and international psoriatic disease organizations and the broader psoriasis community may also be taken into consideration.
• Nominee must be a current professional member of the National Psoriasis Foundation.
Outstanding Medical Office Staff Award
To recognize a medical office staff member for outstanding achievements in patient advocacy, care, or care navigation of patients with psoriatic disease that has played a major or lasting role in improving the quality of life of patients and their families.
Criteria for Selection
• Nominee is actively involved in patient advocacy, care, or care navigation of patients with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis.
• Nominee is a recognized and highly regarded office staff member with >5 years of distinguished service.
• Nominee is well-known locally or nationally for exceptional knowledge and expertise.
• Contributions and volunteer service to both national and international psoriatic disease organizations and the broader psoriasis community may also be taken into consideration.
• Nominee must work with a current professional member of the National Psoriasis Foundation.
Nomination Process
- Nominations are accepted from the medical professional's colleagues, patients, or staff of NPF.
- Include a short statement on why you are nominating your provider or colleague.
- Nomination letters should address the criteria for selection (above).
- Include curriculum vitae with career, mentoring, and publication highlights.
- Include a list of current and former mentees/trainees.

Award Process
- All recipients are chosen by the NPF Awards Committee.
- Awards are presented at the NPF Corporate Reception at the AAD Annual Meeting.
