Psoriasis One to One
Have questions? Need to talk?
Those recently diagnosed with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis and their loved ones often describe feeling lonely, isolated and anxious at first. However, it doesn't have to stay that way. Psoriasis One to One connects you with people who have psoriasis and/or psoriatic arthritis. They have been through what you are going through and are thriving. We also now have care partner volunteers that have experience caring for a loved one with psoriatic disease and are eager to connect with you!
Get what you need to overcome your and your loved one's struggles with the disease:
- Disease and treatment information (not medical advice).
- Resources, such as locating a health care provider experienced in treating psoriatic diseases in your area, and opportunities to connect with others in the psoriatic disease community.
- Goal setting goals for a healthier lifestyle
- Emotional support
Feedback from Psoriasis One to One:
"I tried to talk to people about [psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis] and they would change the subject. I need to connect... This program is important because it gives people a chance to connect." Terri E., Psoriasis One to One volunteer
"This program has been able to give me more and better information about psoriatic disease than any of the specialists I have taken my daughter to see. Doctors don't have brochures or contact information to anything very handy. On the day she was diagnosed, I asked my daughter's rheumatologist if she could get me in touch with another parent and the doctor had nothing to offer. When I started Googling later that day, I came across Psoriasis One to One and have been so grateful.." One to One parent participant
"There were a lot of people who helped me with emotional support [when I was first diagnosed] and I really needed that. One to One is a perfect way for me to reciprocate." Matthew K., Psoriasis One to One volunteer
