Two over-the-counter products help with psoriatic disease

Tide Free and Gentle Liquid Laundry Detergent and Tide PODS® Free and Gentle Laundry Detergent are the first household products to receive the NPF Seal of Recognition.

The National Psoriasis Foundation’s Seal of Recognition highlights over-the-counter products, and recognizes products that have been created or are intended to be non-irritating and safe for people with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis or individuals living with severe sensitive skin or joint mobility limitations.

The Seal of Recognition offers five categories:
  • Personal care (lotions, cleansers, hair products)
  • Household items (detergents, cleaning products)
  • Fabrics (clothing, bedding)
  • Mobility (assistive devices for walking, easy to use support devices for activities)
  • Supplements (vitamins, juices)
How products earn the Seal of Recognition

Manufacturers interested in submitting their products for the NPF Seal of Recognition must go through an application, evaluation and approval process, which includes submitting independently tested scientific data demonstrating the product does not irritate skin and or joints burdened with psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, severe sensitive skin or joint mobility limitations. The application is then independently reviewed by a panel of dermatology and rheumatology experts and people with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
