What is an Advocacy Day? An Advocacy Day is hosted by an organization to allow its members to meet their state lawmakers. It’s your opportunity to advocate and explain why you support legislation relevant to you and your organization.
What is NPF advocating for on the March 13 Advocacy Day? In Minnesota, lawmakers will be introducing legislation that will curb step therapy protocols. Under step therapy, you must first fail on one or more medications chosen by their insurer before coverage is granted for the drug prescribed by your health care provider. In the psoriatic disease drug classes, step therapy is used approximately 50 percent of the time. This is unacceptable.
Would you like to attend the March 13 Advocacy Day? Do you want to help us secure these overrides for our patient community? If so, you can support this legislative effort by educating your lawmakers on this issue. One of the most valuable tools for passing this important piece of legislation is you — the patient.
