A wealth of resources for families affected by psoriatic disease

Last fall, NPF launched Our Spot, a new site for children and teens with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis. Our Spot, designed with the help of parents, teens and young adults with psoriatic disease, features age-appropriate resources to help support the needs of youth from toddlers to teens as well as parents and other caregivers.

Here are some of Our Spot’s features:
  • Stories and tips from kids, teens and parents about what it means to live with psoriatic disease
  • Communication tips for different types of relationships, from family members to friends, and ideas on how to cope with bullying
  • Resources to help navigate laws that apply to schools, as well as education for classmates and school staff about psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis
  • Opportunity to connect with parents who understand what it means to have a child diagnosed with psoriatic disease
  • Tips for college-bound teens
  • How to be yourself when life is turned upside-down by a diagnosis of psoriasis
  • Interactive activities
The Our Spot Welcome Kit is for newly diagnosed youth with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis. Two kits are available – one for kids ages 12 and under and one for teens. Both provide information and tools to learn more about the disease and how best to offer support. The kits include information about psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, a parent guide, recipes to try at home, a free one-year subscription to Psoriasis Advance magazine, and a choice of either an NPF friendship bracelet or a leopard plush toy.

Explore Our Spot and how you can connect with NPF’s newest community for youth and their families!
