Judy Shannon, MS, CVA
Judy Shannon is the Director of Community Engagement for VolunteerNow and a Certified Volunteer Administrator. She earned an MS in Organizational Communication in 2011 with a research on nonprofit burnout of staff and volunteers. She is also an author, public speaker, innovator and life-long volunteer. Judy shares the VolunteerNow philosophy that ‘Volunteers Change Everything.’ Her work with thousands of nonprofits and ten of thousands of volunteers has helped her gain valuable insight into effective volunteer engagement and how to successfully negotiate the inevitable challenges we all may experience when we follow our passions.

Dr. Kristen Beck
Dr. Kristen Beck received her undergraduate degree from Brown University and her M.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. She completed a clinical research fellowship at the University of California San Francisco, during which she conducted clinical trials for novel biologic, topical, and phototherapy treatments for psoriasis. Dr. Beck was also a recipient of the National Psoriasis Foundation's Psoriatic Disease Research Fellowship Award to study genetic risk factors for psoriasis. She is currently in the dermatology residency program at the University of Texas Southwestern.
Angie Thies manages NPF’s Midwest state advocacy efforts. She has worked in health care advocacy for over twenty years and specializes in volunteer development and state legislative work. She is a graduate of Doane College in Nebraska and holds an MSW from Loyola University in Illinois.
