NPF understands for some patients access to specialist providers may be limited due to insurance or location, and care through a primary care provider may be your only option. An informed and educated patient is able to feel comfortable and empowered to manage and treat their psoriatic disease appropriately, seeking a referral or coordinated care with a specialist when suitable. This shared decision making (SDM) process leads to improved overall outcomes, adherence and patient satisfaction.
