Skin of Color is a FREE event that will help bring awareness to the unique challenges associated with psoriasis among patients of varying ethnic backgrounds.
By the end of the program, participants will be able to:
- Understand the barriers that prevent patients with skin of color from being properly diagnosed with psoriasis in a timely fashion.
- Recognize the differences between the presentations of psoriasis in patients with skin of color versus Caucasian patients.
- Make informed decisions about reasonable treatment options that take cultural factors into consideration.
- Realize why there is a higher impact on quality of life in patients with skin of color, and in turn, be able to identify coping strategies for living with the disease.
