Setting the Landscape: An Overview of Health Insurance

This is the first webcast in a three-part series focused on health insurance and the barriers to accessing health care. This webcast will discuss important differences and access issues of various insurance options including commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and no insurance at all.

“Setting the Landscape: An Overview of Health Insurance” is a free online event that will educate people living with psoriatic disease and their caregivers on insurance types and related issues with each insurance type.

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the basics of health insurance, including plan types and the different costs associated with health insurance
  • Understand the difference between commercial insurance, types of Medicare and Medicaid
  • Recognize what considerations to make when choosing a health plan
  • Understand when open enrollment begins for each type of insurance, where to enroll and the resources available to help with enrollment
